‘Fossil Wonderland’ moves to Chicago’s Washington Park
The 6,000-square-foot space features “mummified” and replica dinosaur bones and great learning opportunities for the dino-curious.
Chicago’s Washington Park is the new home for a Fossil Lab run by UChicago paleontologist Paul Sereno.
A “Fossil Wonderland” is how the university describes the space, and it’s an apt description.
Visitors can take in fossils, 3D rendering of dinosaurs and the skull of a 40-foot-long prehistoric crocodile that Sereno says would have eaten dinosaurs.
Reset hears more about learning opportunities this space will provide for the community and the public at large.
GUEST: Paul Sereno, paleontologist, archaeologist, professor at the University of Chicago
CORRECTION: The interview and an earlier version of this article refer to Paul Sereno as a National Geographic “explorer-in-residence.” However, he no longer holds that title.
